Malama Honua

Last week Wednesday we went to Pt England beach to welcome the malama honua people from hawaii, we learnt that they did not use any modern technology and they use the stars, birds and the wind.

They used the traditional way because it was their culture and they knew how to use the stars, bird, sea and the sky to navigate the big ocean so when they came the whole schools from the east side went to welcome the malama honua people from hawaii.

They were lots of people at Pt England and they were also people with cameras and when the malama honua people came we singed He honore, he kororia Maungarongo ki te whenua Whakaaro pai e Kinga tangata katoa Ake ake, ake ake Amine Te Atua, te piringa and

Nga waka e whitu Aotea, Tanui, Te arawa Tokomaru, Mataatua Toia manga ki runga ki uku toia e. The we sang E oho ra e and we sat down and the hawaiian people were speaking to us in hawaii.
